After leaving secretarial college in 1983, Laila worked as a temporary secretary for six years before settling in the financial sector. She worked for Lazard Asset Management for ten years as secretary and administrator for European analysts, researching and collecting information on European companies.  Laila is now responsible for maintaining Montanaro's comprehensive collection of business and company information.

Laila joined Montanaro in February 2000.
