Ralph's great passion in life has been sailing, particularly dinghy racing. In recent years this has involved his two children who crew for him in their twin trapese RS800. He is currently Principal Race Officer at Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club. Other sporting interests include football (still plays the odd game of five-a-side including the newly formed Montanaro team), golf (was a 12 handicapper but does not play enough nowadays), cycling and skiing.
