The Montanaro European Smaller Companies Fund was launched on December 8th 2000 and is listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
Structured as an open-ended investment company, it is a “UCITS III” (Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities) Fund authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland. It is administered by Northern Trust (Ireland) Limited and audited by Ernst & Young. It is approved by the AMF in France, the FSA in the UK, the IFRSA in Ireland and in the Netherlands.
The European Fund invests in quoted European (including UK) companies with a market capitalisation below €2 billion and focuses on "smaller" companies below €500 million. The benchmark is the Morgan Stanley Europe Small Companies Index. The investment objective is to outperform its benchmark.
Since launch the Fund is the top performing Fund within its peer group. It is AA rated by Standard & Poor's and 4-Star rated by Morning Star.
Shares in the European Fund are traded daily through the Administrator at Net Asset Value. The minimum subscription is £1,000.
